FAQs

What Is Overactive Bladder?
Overactive bladder describes when women have sensation of urgency- needing to urinate frequently as well as not being able to delay urination. Women describe having to rush to the bathroom. It is often accompanied by not being able to make it and leaking urine or urge incontinence. There are common triggers such as coming home and putting the key in the lock or running water or doing dishes.

Many women are not happy with treatment for overactive bladder. The medications available have side effects and are very expensive. Most women only can use them for a few months before stopping. Lifestyle changes and behavioral management have consistently been shown to be an effective first-line treatment for overactive bladder. However, many providers either don’t have the training or the time to do this. This 3-month program allows an in-depth way to incorporate behavioral strategies, lifestyle changes, and techniques such as meditation to improve not only bladder behavior but also overall health and wellbeing.

How Much Will It Cost?
There is no upfront cost to participants. All the services will be billed through insurance. You will need to see Dr. Hsu for an initial visit to make sure that this program is appropriate for you and that there are no other causes for your symptoms such as prolapse or infections. Once you have agreed to participate, your telehealth sessions will be billed through your insurance. You will be responsible for your usual copay amount associated with visits.
